 Spiridonovka street

Spiridonovka street is a street in the centre of Moscow between Malaya Nikitskaya Street and Sadovo-Kudrinskaya Street. It got its name (up to 1941 - Spiridonievskaya Street) after the church of Spiridon, known from 1627 and that was demolished in 1930. In 1941-1994 it was called Aleksey Tolstoy street in memory of writer Aleksey Nikolaevich Tolstoy (1883-1945) who lived in this street.
