Church of All Saints na Kulichkakh

Church of All Saints na Kulichkakh is an orthodox church of the Pokrovsky deanery of Moscow diocese. It is a church in town of Alexandria Orthodox Church. The temple is located in the Slavic area, in Zaradje, near Kitay-gorod. The church still defines the architectural appearance of Slavic Square.
The church building is two-tier, single-headed, with a single semicircular apse that is surrounded by a gallery on three sides, to the western facade of which a porch is adjoined. From the north-west corner of the church one can find a three-tiered octagonal bell tower with Baroque details. This is one of a few "Pisan towers" of the Russian capital. Art critics do not have a common opinion when the church was built. The lush decor of windows point to the 1680s as the most probable time of construction. However, it is possible and that the chapel and the refectory were added to the south side of the quadrangle which dates back to an earlier time, perhaps even to Godunov era. The lower tier, hidden by the cultural layer, preserved the tombstones of the 15th-16th centuries. The wall-paintings of the post-Petrine time has recently been restored.
