V.S.Vysotsky State Cultural Center and Museum is a reseach and cultural center aimed at gathering, preserving, studying all the materials reflecting V.Vysotsky`s life and work and the epoch he lived in.
The current exposition of the museum was opened in 2000 to commemorate the 20th anniversary since the day of Vysotsky`s death. More than 1000 exponats are exhibited in three halls (the third one was opened in 2008) of the museum. The halls have special names which are lines from poems by Vysotsky:
1) “I am enlightened…” Here visitors can find exhibits connected with Vysotsky`s work such as his suits, his famous jacket, footage from film sets.
2) “My own path” where you can learn about Vysotsky`s life, family, friends. Here his toys from childhood, letters, poems are displayed.
3) V.Vysotsky`s office. This is where things from his flat in Malaya Gruzinskaya Street (where he lived since 1975 till 1980) are exhibited. There are two rooms there with self-made book shelves, a wardrobe, a table from red wood and two ancient armchairs and a sofa.
