Russian Museum of Biology named after K.A.Timiryazev is a museum of natural science founded in 1992. Since 1934 the museum has been located in a complex of buildings of the Museum of Russian antiquities named after P.I.Shukin which was built in a “novorussky” style in 1892-1915 and is considered to be a monument of architecture of federal sigificance.
The exposition of the museum covers all fields of Biology starting from mushrooms and orchids to dinosaurs and people. Here visitors can discover unique exhibitions connected not only with zoology and evolution but also with botany and physiology which cannot be found in other museums in Moscow.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday -10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Thursdays – 12 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Sundays – 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Mondays, each last Tuesday of the month – days off
