Vernadsky State Geological Museum is the oldest museum in Moscow. It was founded by M.V.Lomonosov in 1755. It is a scientific and educational Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the field of studies of the Earth. The current staff spares no pains to educate people about science and environment protection. There are lots of interesting scientific and educational and art exhibitions held in the museum. The museum was granted the current status in 1988. The collection of minerals in the museum is one of the oldest in the world and is one of three largest ones in Russia.
