The State Museum of Oriental Art owns a huge collection of oriental artworks from Eastern countries, Caucasus, Central Asia, Kazakhstan and the Siberian region, picture by N.K.Rerich and S.N.Rerich. The museum is located at the centre of Moscow in “The House of Lunins” near Nikitskiye gates and is protected by the government. In the museum you can discover traditional artworks as well as artworks of the 20th century.
Large collections of the museum represent traditional art of Japan, China, Iran, India, countries of South-East and central Asia, Northern and Southern Caucasus, Kazakhstan.
The exposition has more than 160 thousand of objects of art, graphics, sculpture, design and crafts, archeology from more than one hundred countries.
Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday – Sunday – 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. (ticket offices close at 7.30)
Thursday – 12 a.m. – 9 p.m. (ticket offices close at 8.30 p.m.)
