The Olympic complex "Luzhniki" is an ensemble of unique buildings and a sample Stalinist classicism, and the Grand Sports Arena is the brand identity of athletic Moscow.
Under the platform "C" of he Grand Sports Arena there is a Sports Museum, founded in 1957 for the opening of the VI World Festival of Youth and Students. Museum tells the history of the Russian sport from the end of the XIX century to the present. The Funds of the museum have about 25,000 items, the most valuable of which are the commemorative medal of the first modern Olympic Games (1896), ceramic saucer works by Picasso, a tool for meditation of the Chinese emperors. The museum also houses a collection of Olympic medals and sports awards, posters, personal belongings of famous athletes, gifts of foreign delegations. Much of the exhibition is dedicated to the XXII Olympic Games in 1980 in Moscow. The Visit to the museum is part of the excursion program for the Olympic complex.
