The Russian Forest Museum is Museum in the scientific and educational provision of the Federal Forestry Agency.
The museum was founded in 1998, the opening was timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the creation in Russia of the Forest Department. It is located in a new building, apparently the playback image of the beginning of the nineteenth century mansion. The museum building is planned, built and equipped specifically to house the museum. The author of the artistic conception of the museum is the artist EI Kuleshov.
The basis of most expositions of the museum became donated collections and exhibits. The exposition of the museum is a synthesis of genres, and at the same time is the scientific, historical, ethnographic and Industry:
"The Temple of the forest" is the exposition of the Russian forest
"The Wooden Russia" is the exhibition about the history of wooden architecture in Russia
"The Czar eye" is the exposition of the history of forest management in Russia
"The Treatise on forestry" is an exposition about the history of forest science and forestry education in Russia.
