 Voroncovo Palace

Voroncovo Palace is a nature historical and architectural group of buildings situated in the south-western part of Moscow. It is more known as Voroncovsky park.
The park represents a memorial of park and garden art of the end of the 18th and the beginning of the 19th century and occupies the territory of about 48,7 hectares. The territory is the former estate of boyar Voroncov (the 16th century). In the park you can come across unique instances of old trees like oaks, elms and lindens. During the Soviet times the park was almost destroyed. It was restored in 2006-2007 and was opened for visitors on the 14th of July 2007.
Nowadays the estate represents a park with picturesque oak and birch paths. The buildings of the 18th and 19th centuries were restored: gates with a sentry tower, two outbuildings, two service corps, an orthodox church - the Cathedral of the Life-Giving Trinity.
On the territory you can also find a unique pond cascade from which the river Ramenka flows. The cascade was completely restored in 2005-2006 with the help of draining, cleaning of the bottom and bank stabilization.
