The Bauman Moscow State Technical University is a Russian national research university and a cultural heritage site. It is the first technical university in Russia.
The museum of the university is situated in a building part of which used to be Slobodskoy Palace and which was rebuilt in 1830 into a Trade School by the architect J.Jiliyardi after fire of 1812.
The Bauman Moscow State Technical University was included into a national code of cultural heritage sites in Russian in accordance with Russian Federation Presidential Decree in 1995.
The main exposition includes two halls, the first of which was opened in 1992 and the second one was opened in 2000 to commemorate University`s 170th anniversary. The exposition follows the history and the development of The Bauman Moscow State Technical University from a Trade School into the first technical university in Russia which role in the history of Russian science and influence on the development of Russian science and industry are huge.
The museum includes galleries “Founders of academic schools”, “Outstanding graduates of BMSTU”, expositions about N.E.Bauman and V.G.Shukhov.
