Museum of Patriotic war of 1812 is a part of exhibition hall of State Historical Museum located in Ploshchad Revolutsii and was founded to commemorate 200th anniversary of Patriotic war of 1812. The museum is situated between Old Mint and Moscow State Duma in a two-storey building designed by architect Andreev specially for this purpose. The square of the exposition is 2000 squared meters.
The museum funds have more than two thousands of objects including ancient maps, weapons, personal belongings, household articles, uniform of French and Russian armies, units of arts and crafts, collection of numismatics, artworks (painting, graphics, sculpture, miniature) devoted to the Patriotic war, other Napoleon wars and international relationship between Russian Empire and First French Empire, between Alexander the first and Napoleon.
Opening hours: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. (ticket offices close at 5.30 p.m.)
Thursdays – 11a.m. – 9 p.m. (ticket offices close at 8 p.m.)
