There are more than 5000 exponats in the collection of the museum, 150 of which are displayed in the exposition. The Museum was established in 1962. Remains of Soviet soldiers (those who died in winter of 1941) that were found by schoolchildren were reintered in the mass grave on the 40th kilometer of Leningradskoye Shosse. In December in 1996 the ash of the Unknown Soldier was taken there. The museum`s main visitors are pupils. Lots of exponats were found by children.
